  • "Montirius is the contraction of the first names of Christine & Eric Saurel's 3 children: MON (Manon) + TI (Justine) + RIUS (Marius). It has been a family estate for 5 generations. In 1980, Max Saurel, Eric's father , stopped using chemical fertilizers, already sensing their negative effects on the soil and people. Eric, who has been working on the estate for 26 years, is driven by the constant search for the right balance to obtain great terroir wines. to Bio-Dynamic cultivation in 1996 before building his new winery in 2002. This Gigondas "La Tour" is produced from the youngest vines of Domaine Montirius (35 years old nonetheless). the plot are based. Traditional vinification in cement vats. cement vats without interior coating for one winter then in bottle. 100% unfinished.
