- "The Château de Miraval is a 17th century Provençal style castle-bastide located in the commune of Correns (the first organic village in France), in the Var. It includes an estate of 600 hectares which includes a pine forest, an olive grove and a 30 hectare wine estate in the Provence vineyard.
- Local historians say that the castle was built near one of the five great Roman roads crossing Gaul. Thomas Aquinas lived briefly here in 1252 and the Prince of Naples made it his main residence in the 16th century, with the aim of allying himself with the King of France.
- The castle also houses Miraval Studios founded in 1977 by French jazz pianist Jacques Loussier under the name Studio Miraval.
- In 1992, Jacques Loussier sold the estate to American businessman Tom Bove1.6 for 22 million francs. In 2007, when he spread the rumor that he wanted to sell, Tom Bove received a visit from Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Libération specifies that “legend has it that it was while flying over the region in a helicopter that the couple fell in love with this Provençal building”.
- In 2011, actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie acquired the estate as well as the Miraval wines in the form of a 50/50 partnership with winemaker Marc Perrin; ten years later, Angelina Jolie, separated, sold her shares.
