  • "30 km south of Lyon, on the banks of the Rhône, stands, in the heart of the Côte-Rôtie vineyard, the oldest house in the Rhône valley, still in activity: Maison Vidal-Fleury. Founded in 1781 , it has survived the centuries thanks to the tenacity of men resolutely in love with wine.
  • The passage of celebrities such as Thomas Jefferson in 1787 gave the estate a reputation allowing them to develop commercial relations with the United States. In the 1890s, Gustave Vidal married a Miss Fleury; thanks to his dowry, he managed to replant the vineyard following the phylloxera crisis.
  • In the middle of the 20th century, Vidal-Fleury was one of the emblematic houses of Côte-Rôtie, and still remains so today.
  • Long traditional maceration : 2 weeks for Grenache and 3 weeks for Syrah and Mourvèdre.
  • Complete malolactic fermentation. Natural clarification and stabilization by successive withdrawals, filtration (tangential), absence of sticking.
  • Aged on lees in vats then in tuns for 9 months.
  • A seductive nose with its notes of blackberry, cherry, garrigue and violet.
  • A structured and creamy mouthfeel. It is mainly dominated by Grenache with aromas of cherry and pepper."
