- "Château Les Mesclances extends its 35 hectares of vines at the foot of the Massif des Maures, in the heart of a 110-hectare estate, in the Var commune of La Crau in the Var.
- Detached in 1802, following the family division of an estate owned since 1530 by the family of Sieur de Boutiny, ancestor of the current owners, Les Mesclances have developed.
- Today, Arnaud and Elisabeth de Villeneuve Bargemon have new and great ambitions for their property. Managing the estate since 2009, and helped by their daughter Sophie, they have endeavored to make Chateau Les Mesclances worthy of its ancestral past.
- This vineyard with a surface area of 33 ha. is in organic farming.
- They also cultivate fig trees and olive trees.
- The winemaking tradition of Mesclances is, to say the least, ancient. Alerted by the presence of numerous pieces of terracotta on one of the hillsides of the property, archaeologists have carried out excavations. Well Seen! They revealed the presence of an ancient Roman wine farm. "We found in particular cisterns or even amphora bases of almost a meter in diameter", says the owner of the place.
- Their terroir is composed of schists and therefore a production of wines with a lot of minerality and salinity in the finish.
- Fine aromas of citrus fruits and white flowers are present and the finish, with a little marked acidity, brings a sunny and round side."
