- "Maison Louis Latour, merchant-breeder of white and red wines in Burgundy, France, was created in 1797. It makes a point of remaining independent and family-run. Each generation has worked to preserve this heritage with a visionary and ambitious spirit. Maison Louis Latour represents the largest Grands Crus property in Côte-d'Or.
- Chambertin is located at the heart of the constellation of Grands Crus of the Côte de Nuits. The Chambertin terroir is legendary for its exceptional richness due to a geological phenomenon called the “dejection cone”. This highly complex terroir is marked by brown limestone soils.
- At the end of the 19th century the Latour family acquired 0.81 hectares in the Chambertin Grand Cru appellation, constituting a superb plot in one piece, from top to bottom of the hillside, closer to Latricières than to Clos de Bèze.
- This Chambertin took the name “Cuvée Héritiers Latour”, and the plot was then passed on as an inheritance to the descendants of the Latour family.
- Manual harvest.
- Aging for 10 to 12 months in oak barrels, 100% new.
- Barrels : Cooperage Louis Latour, French oak, medium toast.
- The nose is elegant and reveals notes of morello cherry, licorice and nutmeg.
- In the mouth, the power dominates. The tannins are present and underline aromas of slightly liquorice undergrowth.
- Very nice persistence."
