- "The first traces of Château Soutard date back to 1513, a time when Bourdieu de Mayne de Soutard was established on the site of the current castle. The term “Bourdieu” designates an estate around a farm and a mill.
- Château Soutard wrote a new page in its history in 2006 following its acquisition by La Mondiale, a company of AG2R La Mondiale, the leading social protection group in France.
- Owner of Château Larmande and Château Grand Faurie La Rose, La Mondiale is carrying out major renovation work on the cellars and the château. A strong development of wine tourism activity has also been initiated.
- Château Soutard manages its vineyard in a reasoned manner, paying particular attention to respecting the soil, the vines but also the auxiliary fauna. Château Soutard has been labeled HVE (High Environmental Value) level 3 since 2018, thus committing in particular to limiting chemical inputs and preserving biodiversity.
- The harvest is carried out in 10 kg crates, in order to preserve the integrity of the grapes, which are left overnight in a cold room. This is followed by rigorous sorting by density in order to keep only the high quality berries, before destemming.
- Lasting 18 months, the aging is carried out in French oak barrels (60% new barrels each year) from eight different cooperages.
- The nose, truly unique, offers aromas of spices (curry) with a development of black fruits dominated by cherry and wild blackberry.
- On the palate, this classified growth from Saint-Emilion is structured around beautifully sappy tannins, well-extracted tannins, ripe before becoming more refined at the end of the palate."
